Whats New In iOS 7

Apple finally released the next generation of iOS 7 at todays WWDC 2013 keynote and there was quite a lot to take in regarding new features and design changes so we had complied them all in to one simple post.

iTunes Radio

Apple iTunes Radio

As we confirmed last night Apple launched a it’s new iTunes Radio Service which is built in to iOS 7’s   iTunes Radio is basically like other services currently available such as Spotify, the service allows you to listen to songs on demand and like its competitors has the ability to create radio station for you by taking in to consideration your most listened to artists and songs. iTunes Radio will be available for free on iPhone, iPod touch, iPad, and iTunes on the Mac and PC but all will be supported by ads. iTunes Radio will only be available in the US for now.

Expectations were high for Siri in iOS 7 but not all expectations were reached. Sir did get some improvements including new voices, Apple now gives you the option of a  female or male voice in either English, French, or German. A lot of people to Siri to the next level with jailbreak tweaks but functions such as controlling Bluetooth, brightness and playing back voicemail messages.

Safari got more than expected attention in the todays keynote with it getting improved functionality for full screen browsing, a new flipping card-tab which is noticeably similar to the interface in Google’s Chrome iPhone app and also a long awaited gesture navigation system. It seems Apple did no only take card tabs from Chrome but not Safari allows you to perform searches in the address bar. Wouldn’t it be so easy if Safari synced all your  passwords and credit card information across all of your Mac and iOS devices? Well its your lucky day.

Control Center

iOS users have been asking for this for a very long time but Jailbreakers have had functionality like Control Center for the last couple of years thanks to SB Settings. Control Center is basically a swipe up menu which aims to give you quick access to toggles such as airplane mode, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, brightness and more.

App Store

Remember them annoying badges which should that you need to update some of your apps? Well it looks like you will not have to do that anymore in iOS 7 as it features automatic app updates in the background.

Camera and Photos

It wouldn’t be a new version of iOS with out the camera and photo library getting an improved interface. The photos app inherits the same design ascetics as all of the other iOS 7 apps.  The redesigned camera interface now also allows the users to add filters with in the Moments is a new feature with in the photos app which organizes your images by time and location.
