What's New In Apple iTunes 11 ?

It seems like a lifetime ago since Apple showed us iTunes 11 but in fact it was only back in September. You may have remembered that Apple said it would be released shortly after at the end of October but Apple delayed the release to November due to unknown issues. This looks to be the best update to for iTunes in a long time and and once you get your hands on it you will relies how poor previous versions have been.

Redesign – When using previous versions of iTunes it was very easy to forget that this was designed by Apple as it was just slow and chunky but Apple has improved the over all look with iTunes 11. iTunes 11 brings a totally redesigned player and new experience to the user , the design is much more simplistic and sleek and makes it a lot easier to access. The menu from the left hand side has now dissapeared and all the different media types appear in a sleek drop down menu at the top. The play control buttons have dropped the retro look and have been brought in to the 21st century.

iCloud – One of the best features of iCloud is the one you most likely will not relies how much you use it and this feature is that when you buy any media from the iTunes store they appear in all of your iTunes libraries  through out your devices. Another iCloud feature  is you can now watch a film on your Mac or Apple TV and then when you play the movie on your other devices it will start from were you left off , this feature will also work with TV Shows, Podcasts, iTunes U and Audio Books.

The mini player now appears when you minimise iTunes and also gives you access to check out your list of up and coming songs in your playlist as well as being able to search your iTunes library straight from your mini player.

Up Next – Apple concentrated a lot on this feature when showing iTunes 11 off at the keynote. Up next allows you to take a quick look at what songs are coming up next and allows you to easily add  and delete songs from the playlist and also change around the playing order.

iTunes Store – When accessing the iTunes store before you would find the store acted in a different way on every device but now Apple has improved the overall look and the navigation of the iTunes store in both iTunes and iOS 6. The store looks a lot more modern now with extra chances for artist and apps to get noticed

Expanded View – When you click on a song or album iTunes will display a full section below on the artist including full album information and also allows you to purchase more songs from the selected artist or your can purchase the full album

Preview History – In preview history can take a look at all the songs you have listen to the 30 second previews for. This will come in handy when you do not have funds in your account but want to remember a song or you want to remember it to tell a friend. iCloud is also included in this feature and means this extremely useful list is accessible on all of your devices
