Siri Is Illegal When Driving Says San Jose Police

San Jose Police earlier informed MercuryNews that using Siri while driving is illegal. The Luitenant of San Jose Police said Siri becomes illegal when you use your hands to navigate the functionality of Siri

“It’s legal to talk to Siri, as long as the phone’s not in your hand,” says San Jose police Lt. Chris Monahan. “But if you have to push the phone to activate her, or if you ask for directions and she puts them up on her screen for you to read, then California’s hands-free law says your’re breaking the law.”

This is a very confusing point as a lot of people use there iPhones as GPS devices which are allowed to be touched while driving. This sure is a fine line and hopefully you stay on the right side
