SimCity Coming to Mac on 06e 11th with Cross-Platform Support

EA has just announced the arrival of one of its latest titles, SimCity and it will be available on Mac Computers from June 11th this year featuring cross platform support.

The title will be available exclusively through EA’s Origin platform (in addition to “other online retailers”), but those who have already purchased the PC version of the game will be able to grab the Mac download for free on Origin

“SimCity is coming to Mac on June 11 and one purchase will give you both the Mac and PC versions. You only need to buy SimCity once to play together across the same servers, regardless of which version you’re playing,” said Lucy Bradshaw, Senior Vice President and General Manager of EA’s Maxis Label. “We didn’t want to make any compromises when it came to the Mac so we created a native version that is optimized for the hardware and OSX.”

The game will allow players to play on the same servers that are currently used by PC players and if you have already bought the PC version of the game, then its available to download to your origin account for free on MAC.

The game itself was marred by launch issues with players unable to access the servers and with them suffering frequent crashes, the company was forced to offer every player a free EA title after the issues were fixed.

EA is currently offering up to 70% off its Origin games on Mac, but for a limited time only.
