Edit: After half day, my wife’s Mac started having the same problem. I have then applied the solution that I found in the Apple
Scuderia Ferrari S100 Earphones
I find it very important to invest in a great pair of earphones for your mobile devices. I understand it is easy to purchase a $10 – $20 on several pairs instead of dropping $100 on one pair. Nevertheless, would you rather want one pair that lasts you for years or have to replace your earphones every 4 to 6 months? Brand recognition has become a selling point for an audio accessory has of late. Well today, I have for you the Ferrari S100 earphones from Logic3. Ferrari oozes of design and enriches products with their choices of colors. Now let us take a closer look to see if they offer everything, we expect from a premium headset.
Ferrari has a keen eye for presentation and it is seen and exemplified with the packaging of the Ferrari S100 by Logic3. The box looks amazing and definitely feels like you have a premium item in your hands. The images have a glossy finish that really illustrates the product. In the box, you will find the Ferrari S100 headset, carrying case, and extra ear tips. The carry case is very well made with a carbon fiber finish topped with the Ferrari logo. Inside is aligned with a soft cloth with Ferrari’s signature red color. As nice, as this boxing is we all know it is all about the headset.
Logic3 stays true to the Ferrari design and truly implements some of Ferrari car details like the use of the traditional grille that in incorporated in the GT cars, the anti-tangle woven cable is constructed by quality material, and the use of the iconic Ferrari emblem and Ferrari Red as the main color. The remote is simple that contains a single button and a microphone. It performs as expected but feels a bit “plasticy.” It contains a standard straight point 3.5mm headphone jack that is gold plated and has a nice finish of Ferrari red with a chrome accent. Aside from the earpieces (which I will get into more details soon), my favorite part about these earphones is the cable encases by the woven fabric. Not only does it look great but also it performs really well staying untangled.
I have come across my fair share of premium branded earphones that look great cosmetically but lack the audio power. I am happy that the Ferrari S100 was not one of those pairs. A 10mm driver with TFAT (Thin Film Acoustic Technology) technology drives the Ferrari S100’s. The TFAT technology is set to produce a “passive dynamic-balancing system.” It truly does help produce a deeper bass with a much wider frequency range. I found these heads phones to be very loud especially when it is maxed out. So loud actually it would really affect the quality. It is vital to manage the volume level by song to have the best experience. The S100 are noise isolation earphones, which helps reduce outside noise by having the sound sent directly into the ear. The ear tips do the majority of the work at it seals the ear to help channel the sound while at the same time enhancing it. Overall, it is a great experience as the music sounds richer, bass is more noticeable, and outside interference is reduced.
The one button microphone remote works great with the iPhone 5 and iPad 3+. It can answer calls (iPhone) and even activate Siri when long pressed. Audio quality on both ends are not hinder as I had no issues hearing anyone or vice-versa. It was easy to access the main button and with the placement of the microphone (back of remote) caused no concern of accidently covering the microphone.
To wrap this up I am going to talk about a couple of things I came across while using the Ferrari S100. These earphones come with many different ear tips and I it important to go through them to see which pair fits best. It is very important because the best pair will create the best experience. My perfect pair keeps the earphones from falling out, feels comfortable, and truly sealed the sound creating the best overall experience. Lastly, the 3.5mm headphone jack casing is a bit large which creates thickness. This can be problematic for those that use a case on their device. It all just depends on the case and the cutout they use for the earphone port.
Below I have included some tech specs on the Ferrari S100 so you can know more about sensitivity and frequency. The Ferrari S100 retail for $149 through Ferraribylogic3.com and Amazon. With premium brand headphones, the price is usually outrageously overpriced but with these it is not bad. If you would see these without the Ferrari brand, they would still topple $80 – $100. The of the sound and materials used are great and make for a real good pair of earphones. Now the question is do you mind having the Ferrari logo plastered on your ear holes.
