San Francisco Police Now Apparently Helped Apple in Search for iPhone 5 Prototype

Going against the earlier article , SFWeekly is now reporting that the San Francisco Police Department have now said they did assist Apple investigators is the search of a san francisco home for the iPhone 5 prototype.
Contradicting past statements that no records exist of police involvement in the search for the lost prototype, San Francisco Police Department spokesman, Troy Dangerfield has now told SF Weekly that

“three or four” SFPD officers accompanied two Apple security officials in an unusual search of a Bernal Heights man’s home. The four plainclothes San Francisco Department Police officers accompanied two Apple investigators to the home of Sergio Calderon. According to the most recent report, only the two Apple employees entered the home and searched while the four police officers remained outside.

Previous rumours and reports had suggested Apple investigators had entered the home impersonating the police force which is a criminal offence. It seems so far the most reliable report seems to be CNet’s original report.
