Edit: After half day, my wife’s Mac started having the same problem. I have then applied the solution that I found in the Apple
OS X Lion: Fast User Switching Allows Multiple Users To Sign Into Graphical Interface
Apple has added a great feature to OS X Panther, which is Fast User Switching, and it enables the computer to allow multiple users to sign into their own GUIs simultaneously. Before this, every user had to sign out before anyone can sign in to the GUI environment.
Apple has added a VNC server and client, along with screen sharing to OS X Leopard. This enables users on one Mac system to view and authenticate the screen of some other system.
In OS X Lion, screen sharing feature permits remote users to sign into separate user accounts at the same time. With this screen sharing provision, any user can sign in a Lion system while another user is already logged in, and work in parallel with other users.
Earlier, users would see only the screen mirror image and would compete for keyboard and mouse controls. While two users work on the system, the remote session will show both users being signed in from Fast User Switching. Lion will only indicate the local user logged in. But if the local user tried to login from the other account on Fast User Switching, there might be kernel problems, showing that it needs fixes.
Mac Terminal Services isn’t a very old functionality, and it makes OS X Lion capable of handling concurrent and multiple graphical shells.
Microsoft used Fast User Switching using Terminal Services on Windows XP. It seems that Apple is starting terminal services using Lion.
Apple has enhanced the Screen Sharing app in Lion with Observe and Control modes along with a button for Screen Capture. This look seems to be taken from the Apple Remote Desktop. And there are more options in preferences, along with more keyboard shortcuts.
It was noted by an IT manager, that Lion doesn’t seem to be working fine with the present make of the Apple Remote Desktop, though it can reach to Screen Sharing client in the OS X Snow Leopard.
How many users here like the idea of multi user screen sharing? You must try it once and see for yourself. Let us know if you like it.
