NYT: Apple Is Currently Working On A Curved Glass iOS Watch

Nick Bilton reporting for The New York Times today published an article which quotes sources close to the California companies explorations. The source says that Apple is currently experimenting with curved glass watches to add to its iOS device family.

Smart watches took the limelight at CES 2013 and look set to be the product to watch for the next couple of months with the Pebble watch starting of the trend.

In its headquarters in Cupertino, Calif., Apple is experimenting with wristwatch-like devices made of curved glass, according to people familiar with the company’s explorations, who spoke on the condition that they not be named because they are not allowed to publicly discuss unreleased products. Such a watch would operate Apple’s iOS platform, two people said, and stand apart from competitors based on the company’s understanding of how such glass can curve around the human body.

Corning who is known for developing Gorilla glass used in the iPhone has recently just developed Willow Glass which is a bendable form of glass which would work perfectly for a watch style device.
