Edit: After half day, my wife’s Mac started having the same problem. I have then applied the solution that I found in the Apple
My Mac Monday (MMM4) : Andrew Gribben
I’ve been teaching since September and my school has been great about giving me free reign to start introducing technology left, right and center, providing I look after it.
I sold my white unibody MacBook and bought an iPad from the USA about a month ago and haven’t looked back.
I already used iCal for my lesson plans and dropbox to store work and PDF versions of textbooks. To look after the computer network I’ve been using iSSH and iTeleport and have convinced several pupils to email homework which I can markup in iAnnotate PDF then send back.
Now that the VGA adapter is available I find my iPad to be the perfect teaching tool, alongside the iPhone taking the picture.
I used to work in web development have an old MacBook pro with a broken screen, at home. It’s connected to a monitor, apple Bluetooth mouse and keyboard and uses an esata RAID array as its hard drive.
I don’t time for that these days, so it’s mainly used by my wife for Facebook and as a UPnP server for the PS3. With my iPad and iPhone my whole office comes with me whichever regardless of the classroom I’m actually in.
