Matcha.tv Acquired By Apple

Apple has been back on the buying spree and has just purchased Matcha.tv for an estimated $1 million to $1.5 million.

Matcha allowed its users one simplified way of viewing everything that is available to watch on Netflix, iTunes, HBO GO, Hulu, Amazon Prime and more. The service shut down earlier this year but Matcha.tv CEO told TechCrunch that it had not disappeared for good.

Apple buys smaller technology companies from time to time, and we generally do not discuss our purpose or plans.

As part of the deal Matcha.tv’s founders will carry on to work under Apple for at least the next two years.
