Manilla for iOS App Review
No one likes bills, in fact everyone hates bills. Just the word bill can make you panic or stress and they hang over you like the weight of the world until you manage to pay them off. Even people called Bill have to make an extra effort to convince us they are trustworthy. While individual bills are bad enough, you are more than likely to have more than one to pay and it can often be difficult to keep track of what has been taken care of, what still needs to be paid and when it needs to be paid by. There is not a single redeeming feature about this process or the very concept of bills, but there are at least apps out there that can make it all a little easier to deal with. If you need a little help managing your bills then Manilla is available from the App Store now for free.
Manilla is an app designed to help you manage all of your bills and keep them organised on your iOS device or Mac and an updated iPhone 5 version has in fact just been released. Through this app you can link to all your accounts and set up reminders to pay your bills, as well as keep track of others finances, such as utilities and other services.
The app has a very intuitive interface and is easy to navigate so you can jump straight in and get organising straight away. All you have to do to get started is register with it, using your email and password and then you are ready to go. An accounts button will show you all the ones you have linked to the app and if you wish to add another, there is a button at the bottom to do this with. You can also add other types of accounts that do not have an online payment system, such as a babysitter, to ensure they do not get forgotten.
Reminders can also be set up and when you open the appropriate menu you will see the various accounts for which they can be set up. Reminders can either be sent via email or as a text message. If you wish to view a bill and check details or whether it has been paid yet you can either view it directly or have the app convert it to a PDF and display it that way.
However you cannot pay a bill directly through the app and it is purely designed as a means to manage everything. This hardly ruins it though and you can set up direct links to the appropriate site which is just as good. If you ever feel overwhelmed with bills then this is a great app for keeping on top of it all. It is very simple to use and the layout presents all the information nice and clearly. If you wish to create budgets then you may need to look elsewhere but this basic package is a great place to start and will make managing your finances much easier.
