iTunes 10th Anniversary and How it Changed People's Lives

With the iTunes Store about to celebrate its 10th anniversary, MacReviews takes a look at the way it has changed the lives of artists around the world.

The iTunes store has recently hit its 25th billionth download and considering it started out at only 200,000 songs, this is a great achievement for Apple.

With over 425 million people having access to an iTunes account, it has changed the lives of some of the more popular artists but also we must not forget that it has changed the lives of some unknown bands too.

One such band is “Cleaned Bandit” who uploaded their first song at the start of 2012 and Grace Chatto had this to say about what happened that day

“About a year ago, we had a song called Mozart’s House that started being played on the radio a bit and we didn’t have any management or label or anything, but we were able to put it online and sell a few copies”

“We were checking the iTunes app on our phones that day when it was released, and it was amazing to see how it went up and it was number two in the album chart.”

The band songs were a huge success and with more and more people signing up for iTunes everyday, it seems that there success will not be short lived,

“I guess now, iTunes is the measure of your success,” said band mate Jack Patterson. “It turned what was a project into a business.”

MacReviews has also rode the iTunes success wave, with our very popular top 5 apps and weekly podcasts getting a lot of attention and boosting traffic to the site.

It seems with iTunes growing faster than ever, there will never be a shortage of people to see what you want to create and explore what others want to show you.
