Is The iCar Concept A Real Possibility ?
The iCar concept has been around for years and now Apple Fan Site takes a look at whether this idea could be a hit for Apple or a fail.
Its been talked about for years, but its never appeared. The iCar concept has been one of Apple fans many wet dreams but Apple don’t appear to be making much progress with regards to a vehicle you can actually drive.
Is It Viable For Apple To Make A Car?
The simple answer from my point of view is yes, and the reason for my decision on this is that not only are people always looking for cars to buy (demand is high) they also want their transportation to link up and be compatible with their current devices.
Lets say you get into your new iCar and the on-board Siri immediately picks up your music collections from your phone or iPod and instantly connects and ads your devices through continuity.
Features Embedded into the iCar Concept
The list is almost endless with most of the already available technology that Apple has at its fingertips going into the new iCar concept design.
One interesting iCar concept technology that could easily be integrated into the car is Touch ID which could be placed on to the handles of the iCar and would let you in and out of the car securely.
Some of the other features may include, Siri on-board computer, voice activated engine start, video calling from a vehicle thats parked, the ability to receive and send iMessage’s from the car, optional front and rear facing cameras for driver support, assisted braking and steering, and even the ability to have Siri drive the car for you with driver-less assist.
The iCar concept is a long shot for Apple Fans and we may yet see one of these cars being made by Apple in the near future, but the company would have to take on many factors such as electric or Gas, wheel types, suspension features and more.
It could prove a big challenge for Sir Jonny Ive, who is one of the lead designers for Apple which is based in California.
Meanwhile we watch and wait to see what Apple delivers over the next few years… maybe a car, maybe not.
