iPhone 5 Prices On eBay Soar Ahead Of iPhone 5C/5S Launch
Sales of the iPhone 5 have soared on eBay post September 10th, with the launch of the iPhone 5S and 5C coming in the next few weeks.
The price for Apple devices always drops by a margin when a newer device is announced, however with the introduction of two new phones at apples September 10th event, and their decision to curtail production of the iPhone 5 after just 1 year, prices on eBay have soared.
The latest information coming from eBay puts the average price of a 16GB iPhone 5 at around
$441. That is roughly $80 higher than the average price of the device on Monday.
The main reason for the price increase seems to be that there will not be anymore iPhone 5’s made, making the model a novelty, and some say, a much rarer item than other devices which have continued to be produced.
It will be very interesting to see where the price for an iPhone 5 goes over the next few days on eBay with more and more people listing their phones in an attempt to get cash-back for purchase of the newer model.
We expect to see iPhone 5 prices coming back down soon as more and more phones are listed on the online marketing site and others around the internet.
MacReviews will continue to monitor the prices of the iPhone 5 on eBay and update this article with any further news on them.
