iPad Mini – 1 Tablet to Rule Them All?

iPad Mini – 1 Tablet to Rule Them All?

Apple’s iPad Mini event is almost upon us, but with so many other tablets out there on the market already, will apple’s new tablet walk the walk, or be overtaken by the rest of the tablet world.

Apple’s new tablet is expected to feature a 7.85″; inch screen with WI-FI compatibility, an A6 processor currently under the iPhone 5 is also a good possibility and this would give extra punch to the mini’s processing power for editing applications. There are expected to be 4 different types of capacity with regards to an iPad Mini, with 8GB 16GB 32GB and 64GB.

The new tablet is expected to be 25% smaller than the iPad 3 or “new iPad” as Apple Called it.  This makes the new tablet much easier to carry around than a standard iPad, even fitting neatly into coat pockets or briefcases

With regards to its competitors….. here we go!

Google’s Nexus 7 is currently the nearest thing to “Voldemort” as far as the iPad Mini is concerned.  It features a 7″; inch screen with excellent gaming capabilities and reading.  The downside is however, just that!  The screen is only 7″;inch and while the processing power and other capabilities are great, thats useless if your screen is to small.  The iPad mini features a screen almost 1 inch larger and after all your buying a tablet to look at it not at the features under the hood.

Next up, the Amazon Kindle Fire HD.  This tablet has only recently been released, but its already heavier and bulkier that the proposed iPad Mini.  The Kindle also features up to 32GB of memory with this again beaten by the Mini’s projected 64GB top release spec.  The Kindle Fire also has access to only 50,000 App’s via Amazons online store where as the iPad Mini is expected to have access to 660,000 App’s…enough said!

Finally we chose the Samsung (I’m Whispering Now) Galaxy Tab 7.7LTE as the last of the iPad Mini’s rival tablets.  This lacks a proximity sensor which is expected in the iPad Mini and also features a slightly smaller screen to that of Apples proposed device.  Battery power and weight are also said to be better with regards to the iPad Mini, but thats still to be decided as we wait for the official event announcement.
