Apple are expected to release both the iPad 5 and the iPad Mini 2 later this year with the possibility of a cheaper iPad Mini version in 2014.

All this information comes from a well connected KGI analyst who predicts that the next gen iPad 5 and the next iPad mini will start having parts shipped in the next few weeks with production completed by early November possibly even late October.

The analyst also predicts the iPad 5 to boast TDD-LTE support, a somewhat exotic cellular protocol used by China Mobile with the iPad Mini featuring retina display and upgraded “A7X” processor.

responsibility for the iPad mini 2 with Pegatron and Casetek who will now provide between 70 and 75 percent of production on these devices in the third quarter, and 80 to 85 percent in the fourth, up from 60 to 65 percent in quarter two.

No release date range has been established for the iPad 5 or the iPad Mini 2, however MacReviews predicts that the dates will fall between the middle of October and November to have the units in stores and to the public by Christmas.
