Ion Audio's Scratch 2 Go For Suction Cup DJ's @ CES 2013
CES 2013 has not officially started yet but as you can tell we are already getting flooded with news and the latest is Ion with the Scratch 2 Go, for all generations of iPad, are suction cups that are shaped like the controls on the Ion’s DJ app “iDJ2Go” available in the app store for free with a paid version also avalible.
This product allows users to experience an easier experience while DJ’ing on the software as if they had a mini controller. This will allow DJ’s to scratch easier, cut with the fader easier and more efficiently, and use the turn knobs faster like you were using the real thing (eventhough its considered the real thing in some cases). The product uses the stylus point to allow the iPad to read the product.
My only question, as i’m a DJ myself, will the product hold without slipping off? Of course this is very cheap from buying $400 – $1500 pieces of equipment for your setup but the quality doesn’t look like steel and the suction cups do not look well enough to stick on for long. But then again, this is a great product for DJ’s who are looking to practice on the go or for people who want to start to get into the DJ world. I love the idea of being able to feel the product in a more 3D way. The Scratch 2 Go package will be available this spring for $29.
