Flickery receives a major upgrade
Eternal Storms Software today is pleased to announce the immediate availability of a substantial update for flickery, advancing it to version 1.9. flickery is a unique desktop flickr client for Mac OS X 10.5 which combines the flickr photo-community with the ease-of-use and elegance of Mac OS X.
With flickery, the user can easily upload photos and videos to your flickr photostream (featuring photo editing capabilities like resizing, flipping, cropping, rotating and applying filters as well as video-trimming options),
Organize items in photosets and groups, browse your favorites and add to them, check out gorgeous photos available in “Explore” and take a look at your contacts’ photos, photosets or favorites. Search the entire flickr database for a particular shot. Browse all the Groups you have joined or Galleries you have created. flickery lets you do it all.
flickery 1.9 features better integration with iPhoto and Aperture by adding plugins for those applications. Now descriptions, keywords and locations are transmitted from Aperture or iPhoto to flickery for easy upload to flickr. The application also implements support for flickr Galleries, which let you create “sets” of other peoples’ photos. It also sports a cleaner and refined UI.
New features in version 1.9 include:
- * Plug-Ins for Aperture and iPhoto
- * Support for flickr Galleries
- * Refined User Interface
- * Adding locations to videos (additionally to photos) before upload
- * eMails now include previews of items (in 10.6)
All in all, this version of flickery includes more than 30 new features, improvements and bug fixes throughout the application. For a more detailed list of changes, please refer to the release notes. For the user’s convenience, there are screencasts available to help learn flickery’s functionality.
“With version 1.9, we focused on better integration of flickery with Apple’s photo application suite (iPhoto and Aperture) and a better, cleaner user interface.”, said Matthias Gansrigler of Eternal Storms Software. “Easy and convenient user interaction is what makes the Mac a great platform. We want to make sure to live up to that.”
* Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard, Universal Binary
* For flickery to run, an internet connection is mandatory
* A flickr account is not necessary, but it is highly recommended
