Edit: After half day, my wife’s Mac started having the same problem. I have then applied the solution that I found in the Apple
Delivery Status iOS And Mac Apps
If you are a very frequent online buyer, you might be receiving a whole lot of e-mails from several online stores which tends to provide information regarding the shipping status related to your last purchases. In order to keep track of all the shipments, all those received e-mails should be kept around and manually checking o the status of every shipment via the websites of various courier services provider.
The application of JuneCloud’s delivery status designed for Mac operating systems is a free Dashboard Widget along with the Delivery Status Touch which is an app of iOS priced to be $4.99. Both the apps are greatly compatible with each other and have been functioned to keep track of all the items that have been shipped by a particular person. Moreover, they also synchronize with each other so that the tracking information can be added onto your iPads, iPhones or on Mac operating systems and set it to show up on all the three devices.
In this widget of Mac OS X, the user has to press the Add (+) button for the purpose of tracking a new item along with providing a title which will describe the type of the shipment made plus its original tracking number. For many of the packages, the program of Delivery Status will select the shipping company automatically, which will be based on its tracking number. Simply press the button of Done to let the tracking process start.
Another feature of it is that it also integrates with the Growl application. Through this, a notification is delivered to the user every time a change occurs within the item, so the user can track it as it paves its way towards you from across the country. Moreover, it also allows the user to enter the order number directly from several stores on the Internet such as Apple, Amazon and Adobe, after which it will trace the order of the shipment without even prompting for the tracking number of the item.
By double-clicking on that particular item in the widget will open up a map of the last determined location within the Google Map along with a handle onto the right lets the user to rearrange their deliveries. Furthermore, it also saves information about past shipments record, so that the user can quickly look them up without having the hassle to dig in through their email inbox.
Another great and perhaps the most compelling function of Delivery Status is its ability to synchronize all the items that are to be shipped across the devices that are attached to the system. To do so, all you have to is to press the Info (i) button located on the widget and make a free account of Junecloud from under the Sync tab. Moreover, the user should also be sure to activate the option of “Send notifications to Delivery Status touch (requires syncing)” placed under the General tab so as to receive push notifications related to changes in the status on all the iOS devices.
Specifically talking about iOS, this universal application can be operated on both the iPhones and iPads along with the provision of the same set of features as were offered by its Mac counterpart, although it is very much wrapped up in more well-designed and well-prepared UI. On both of the devices, the user can enter their login credentials of the application of Junecloud so as to get to synced into the data as well as to create and keep track of all the shipments by the use of push notifications.
There is only one problem with the app and it is that it is for residents of the United States only and does not have the support for several other international courier services. Moreover, it supports several of the global versions of Amazon along with a few courier services from Canada, Australia, Japan, Hong Kong, and many other countries from the European, but the overall selection is quite far from being comprehensive.
On the other hand, it is a very good feature to being able to forward a notification email related to the shipment to the address of Junecloud and having it to get automatically added up onto the users tracking list.
