Apples Profits Rise 12% Amid Strong China Sales

Apples profits have risen by more than 12% After the company moved further into the Chinese market to boost its sales.

Apple announced its latest profits the other day and while they exceeded the expectations of some analysts, there is clearly more work to do.

Executives within the company are hoping they can produce some kind of wonder product to gain the upper hand in a slowing market that is plagued by rivals.

Profits rose 12% to $7.75bn (?4.5bn) in the third quarter as revenue surged 28% in China, despite stiff competition in its third-largest market.

Apple sold 35.2 million iPhones in total over the three months while lower-cost phones sold in China by up-and-coming rivals such as Xiaomi appeared to be grabbing market share mainly from other companies that rely on Google’s Android software

IPad sales are currently down on their pre-Christmas results and Samsung announced that even their Galaxy S5 has sold slower than expected.

Apple are expected to reveal a new smart watch later this year as well as the much talked about iPhone 6 and we will be clearing both events live here on the website.
