Apple Does Not See The Amazon Kindle And The iPad In The Same Category –
Earlier tonight we covered Apples FY2012 Q1 earnings call and heard Apple CEO Tim Cook answer a question which asked if Apple seen lower priced tablets such as the Amazon kindle a threat to the iPad throughout 2012. Tim was quick to reply saying
in terms of competitiveness, the ecosystem for iPad is in a class by itself
Tim Cook then goes on to say that Apple believes the lower priced tablets with reduced functionality are again not in the same category. So if Apple do not see the Kindle as a iPad killer why do most of the public ?
Later in the call the following question was asked
Coming back to the tablet market here: the iPad growth outpaced many of our expectations. Do you think Apple actually benefitted from some of these lower-cost, reduced feature set tablets on the market?
