Apple Close 50 Stores on US East Coast as Hurricane Sandy Nears

Apple is currently boarding up the solid glass windows on many of its stores in Hurricane Sandy’s Path.  Another 15 stores just outside the path of the storm across the north east and Canada are also preparing to close as the Hurricane Nears.

This is not surprising with Apple’s Maple Wooden tables and electrical sockets at severe risk of damage due to flooding, Sandbags are currently in place outside many stores including the flagship store underground on Fifth Avenue, with devices wrapped in plastic. The storm, which is expected to produce an 11 foot storm surge, is due to hit New York Monday Evening and has already caused considerable flooding within several east coast states Atlantic City was currently 95% underwater, the local mayor reports, with Sandy still up to 50 Miles off-shore.
